Circa 1930s, faintly inscribed in pen to underside of base ''Bought at / Colorado State Penitentiary / in June 1938'', with a torchiere socket over an elaborately carved and crosshatched two-sided standard, decorated with Native American faces, animals and insects in relief, raised overall on a beveled square base carved with linear embellishments and ''whirling log'' symbols, overall: 64.75'' H x 12'' W x 12'' D, est: $800/1200

Condition
Overall good condition, with general marks, scratches nicks and losses commensurate with age. An approximately 5''-long linear gouge to base. Scattered chips and nicks, the largest 2'' x .25'' to center of standard. Vertical split and repair to one side of bottom of standard; glue evident. Approximately three patched repairs; the largest approximately 2'' x 2''. Scattered evidence of woodworm to base. Lacking one screw to secure shade. Cord has been broken; wiring should be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use.
