Alex Prager (American, b. 1979)

Born in Los Angeles, Alex Prager dropped out of school at the age of 14 and traveled across Europooe. Upon her return to America, the artist came across an exhibition by William Eggleston and developed an interest in photography. Six months later, Prager had her first exhibition. Since then, her work has been exhibited internationally at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. (2013), FOAM in Amsterdam, and New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Prager is represented in the collections of major museums including New York’s Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum of American Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden. The artist currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
