This is an amazing wooden memory box with its original key that I found in a very old barn in the country. The box is original and old. The inside has purple paper with a mirror in the lid. On the outside is some faint flowers. Inside this box are 115+ memories that date back to 1850's. There are MEMORIAL CARDS, CABINET CARDS, CALLING CARDS, LITHOGRAPHS, LACE CANLVET HOLY CARDS and cards that I have never seen before. A lot of the cards are from Passau.One of the paper cards dates from 1853 in which a pastor has been ordained and is announcing his first sermon. I have shown in the pictures all of the cards that have writing on them so you can get an idea of dates, etc. Most are written in German so I have no idea what they say. A couple of the cards have some type of metal edging which I have never seen before and can't find on the web. Very unusual and delicate. (see photos).All sizes and shapes. (see photos)

The inside of the box is worn in some areas but good for its age. The cards are all different in condition. Some are perfect and brand new, others have some slight issues. All in all for most of the cards being over 100 yrs. old, they have held up well.
