Description
FRIDA KAHLO 1937 SKELETON COUPLE DRAWING SIGNED Frida Kahlo (Mexican, 1907-1954) Surrealist artist, charcoal on paper drawing of a skeleton couple embracing each other. Signed and dated 1937 in the upper left corner. Unlike "calaveras" typically associated with Mexican death imagery, Kahlo depicts a couple in a somber moment. Kahlo was known for her intensely personal images almost always relating to tragic events in her life.
