Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller, ESU desk, 2nd series, USA, c.1952, walnut plywood, lacquered Masonite, nickel-plated steel, chrome-plated steel, lacquered wood, red, blue, black, and yellow panels, 60"w x 28"d x 30"h Provenance: Estate of Ernst and Ann Seeler, Evanston, IL / Collection of Amy Kraushaar, Chicago, IL
Condition
Original finish to all parts. Light to moderate surface scratches, scuffs, and abrasions. One area of damage to the surface of the top with old wood filler (far left center). A few small stains to the top as well as a few small, shallow cigarette burns. Some bowing to the panels on the sides of the drawer bank. All feet intact. Some cracks and losses to the rubber portion of the feet. Rust to the vertical frame on the left side. The drawers are clean and work well. All of the original hardware appears to be intact.
