A bronze discoid hanging lantern with concertina body; the lower body a dish with bands of openwork geometric ornament, central panel with punched scales, points and swags and maker's mark; concertina-type wire-framed body with linen sleeve; upper body slightly domed with bands of openwork to the upper face, central socket and vent; within, a shallow rimmed socket and separate bowl and candleholder; bell-shaped lid with openwork bands, knop handle and lateral securing loop, two knops and flat-section handle with loop and hook; chain with loop to each end. 619 grams total, 17cm (6 3/4").
