Description
An early 20th century emerald and diamond brooch. Of bi-colour design, the rectangular-shape emerald line, with rose-cut diamond double spacers, to the similarly-cut diamond trefoil terminals. French assay marks. Length 4.3cms. Weight 3.9gms.
Condition
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Area of localised discolouration and scratches to the pin. Diamond fairly well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Emeralds medium slightly yellowish-green, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
