Hubley Manufacturing Company Lancaster, PA - Circa 1930 - 9” Long Old Dutch Cleanser was one of the most recognizable trademarks of the early 20th century consumer product era. It was a pumice-based kitchen cleaner. The company motto reputed that “Old Dutch” could chase the dirt away and make everything spic and span. The toy attempts to literally illustrate this remarkable phenomenon. As the toy is pulled, we witness the Dutch girl frantically flail at the dirt and ostensibly chase it away. This specimen retains outstanding paint and includes the original stick. Material: Cast Iron
