Description

The following treasure is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford; noted dealers and lifelong collectors of exceptional antique & vintage heirlooms. Presented for your consideration this Very Rare Nickel Plated cast iron Ornately detailed ROYAL ESTHER STOVE , circa 1898, made by the Mt. Penn Stove Works, This was the deluxe model of the firm's Royal Esther Jr. stove. double-hinged, lidded bread oven, 3 opening doors with main oven and original removable tray plus nickel plated Royal Esther - 2 operating nickel plated front burner doors, working dump grating - ashtray and (2) fantastic sliding horizontal top and bottom dampers in ash tray and top wood feed door - the main ash dump door has it's own sliding damper, separate stand, giant warmers and shrouded stove pipe. Mt. Penn Stove Works was founded in Reading, Pa., in 1881 and closed in 1937 or '38, this was most likely a toy given as a gift for a child when a full-size stove was purchased. *** Weight: 33# *** Measurements: 19 x 8.5 x 16" tall ***
