The following treasure is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford; noted dealers and lifelong collectors of exceptional antique & vintage heirlooms. Presented for your consideration VERY RARE Salesman Sample Jet Black 'The Pet' upright European-style parlor stove by Young & Bros. of Albany,NY. - this cast iron treasure is in the French ladies boudoir style & has a single side opening firebox door - embossed co. name on front ash tray, 'PAT'D 1857'and 'The Pet' on top - note the exceptional floral & fleur-de-lis crown *** $1000 - $1200 ***Weight : 6# *** Measurements: 8.5 x 6 x 10.5" tall ***** In the 19th and early 20th Centuries, salesmen commonly carried model replicas of items that were not easily transportable, such as canoes, farm equipment and appliances. But salesmen's sample stoves are very hard to come by, and the majority of stoves that people think are samples are toy stoves.
