Description
Two Chinese Pierced Jade Carvings of Boats, early 20th c., on custom carved hardwood bases, H.- 3 in., W.- 4 1/2 in., D.- 5/16 in.
Condition
As found. There is a sticky green residue noted to the carved bases, the bottoms of the jade carving and at the center of one jade example. The rudders are now lacking on both ships. There is very mild wear and/or chips to the outermost edges of the carving but nothing exceptionally notable. Some dust and dirt debris is observed within the crevices. Both carvings have a consistently translucent fatty interior texture with occasional attractive green apple colored areas. An auspicious pair.
