Item Details
Description
Rare George Shiebler Sterling Sugar and Creamer, c. 1885, #360, the exteriors modeled as veined leaves, mounted with large spiders, the interior gilt washed, the exterior with traces of original gilt wash, Sugar- H.- 3 in., W.- 4 1/4 in., D.- 3 in., wt.- 7.7 troy oz. (2 Pcs.)
Condition
Conditions consistent with age and use. The spider on the creamer is now lacking half of one leg. Two legs on the same spider are no longer attached to the creamer, but are securely attached to the body of the spider. A potential flea-sized loss is seen to the bend in one leg on the spider on the sugar. An intriguing pair.
