A Vernis Martin-Style Painted Bombé Cabinet with Gilt Bronze Mounts and Marble Top, late 19th century
47 inches high x 38-1/2 inches wide x 19-1/4 inches deep (119.4 x 97.8 x 48.9 cm)

The cabinet with painted allegorical scenes of Europa and the Bull to the front and sides with gilt bronze scroll and floral borders, female bust supports to the corners, running sabot to the tapering legs, two adjustable shelves to the interior.

Condition

Craquelure throughout the painted cartouches, the cabinet does not sit flush, loose escutcheon and border mounts, minor missing flakes to the extreme edges of the marble top; lot includes key.
