WMF – Württemberg Metalware Manufactory
Elegant original Art Nouveau jug
Beautifully shimmering patina in rainbow colours
Height: 38 cm
Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 400 EUR
This beautiful Art Nouveau jug of silver-plated tin was crafted by the Württemberg Metalware Manufactory (WMF). It is designed in a plastically shaped floral pattern. The vase is in delicate, slender form and builds an exposed base. The floral pattern ranks around the entire tall corpus building gracile branches of handle and spout. A leaf forms the sophisticatedly shaped lid with an accurate reproduction of a stem as the knob. The jug is special in the beautifully shimmering patina in rainbow colours.
The condition of the jug by WMF is good with age-related signs of wear that are visible on the surface. The surface is partially abraded and scratched. The jug is 38 cm in height.

WMF was founded under the name Straub & Schweizer and won its first gold medal at the World Fair in London, 1862, then merged with Ritter & Co. in 1880 and emerged as the ‘Württembergeische Metallwaren Frabrik AG’, with headquarters in Geislingen.
