The AEAA is pleased to offer this beautiful ca. 1980s, Limited Edition hand painted Fenton Wave Crest, Carl Helmschmied Swirl ladies reverse spiral ladies dresser box, with stylish Ormolu joiner-work, finished in the exclusive Fenton Cranberry. This handsome box was masterfully hand painted by Sue Jackson in a lovely and subtle Dogwood theme. This special Limited edition is 190 / 2000, with its original sticker + the 8 in oval base mark. Our box sits 5.75 x 4.5 inches tall, weighing 1# 10 oz, and is in virtually mint condition. xxxxxxxxxx. The real Wave Crest Helmschmied Swirl pattern was born in the latter 1890s, invented by Carl Helmschmied, who worked with the C.F. Monroe decorating company. Blanks were supplied by Mt. Washington Glass Co. In 1961, Fenton Glass introduced basic two piece sets of custom colored cased over opal glass boxes & vases, designated as the new overlay colors, Apple Green, Coral, Honey Amber, Powder Blue, and Wild Rose. The sets encompassed Ware #6080 Wave Crest candy boxes, and a Ware #5858 8” tall double crimped Wheat Sheaf vase. These special designs had a very short lifespan, from 1961 to January 1963, making them a Scarce & valuable collectible.
