The AEAA brings you another Antique Toy Stove, with brass doors, 3 integral Kerosene burner insert with snuff controls, individual burner - includes RARE, all-original robins egg blue stew pots,pans,teapot and fantastic stock pot with brass spigot ***Total Weight :7# *** Measurements: 17 x 11 x 11"tall *** It is amazing just how much detail was put into each of these toy and sample stoves. Some of the casting is very intricate and delicate. The history of cast iron toy stoves closely follows the history of real stoves. In the 1840's stoves became popular in American kitchen - toy stoves followed suit. Around the 1880's the range cooker stove began to be used and this is when the toy versions started being made too with many examples shown in the book. In the 1920's gas and electric ranges started becoming popular and smaller versions of these were also made.
