Description
An early 20th century cultured pearl and diamond cluster clasp. The cultured pearl, within an old-cut diamond surround. Estimated total diamond weight 0.40ct. Diameter 1.1cms. Weight 2.4gms.
Condition
Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Possibly adapted from a different item of jewellery, areas of soft solder repair. Push-piece clasp, with three hoops either side of the cluster for a three-row strung necklace/bracelet. Would recommend attention to all settings as some claws deficient/worn. Pearl untested. The cultured pearl is a creamy-white colour, with slight rose and greenish overtones. Typical surface blemishes to include pit marks and light nacre damage. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. The diamonds are fairly bright, drawing a slight yellow hue, with small inclusions, some with surface nicks, two with chipped areas. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue and online for coloured gemstones. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
