Description
Chinese, Qing Dynasty Qianlong Period Mark (1735-1796), 20th century possibly earlier. A thickly potted ox blood glazed yuhuchunping vase of pear shape rising to a narrow neck and flared rim and supported on a round foot, the exterior covered in an even red glaze and the interior glazed white. Vase to a carved wood footed stand decorated with cloud scrolls. Vase approximately 11.75" tall, 7.5" diameter. Marked to underside with cobalt blue underglaze six character archaic Qianlong imperial reign mark.
Condition
Surface scratches to exterior commensurate with age and light handling. Light wear to bottom commensurate with age and shelf use. Approximately eight scattered small dimples under glaze (appear to be original to piece) and perhaps tool impressions. Wooden base with large wood loss to underside and carved edge, some smaller losses. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
