Description
French, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Pair of Old Paris porcelain cornucopia form table vases, each marked with "MA” in blue under glaze on underside of base. Green horn of cornucopia or horn form decorated with gold parcel gilt swirls and arabesques, white central background with hand painted floral motif, lip and tail painted in gold gilt, cornucopia placed on pedestal, green top with gold gilt leaf pattern, legs and center of pedestal white with flower design and outlined in gold gilt . Approximate height 8.75", width 7.5", depth 8.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Sam & Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
One with loss to top foliate form on edge. The other with significant staple repairs with cracks to top and bottom (see photos). Each with wear to gilt elements from handling. Wear to each of the bottoms commensurate with age and shelf use. No other signs of damage, loss or repairs.
