American School, second half 20th century. "Open Palm", patinated cast iron, apparently unsigned. Large naturalistic black painted sculpture depicting a right human hand from wrist, the hand bent at wrist with palm open and facing upward having detailed skin, wrinkles, and fingerprints, the bottom side of the hand also with natural and well rendered details including knuckles and fingernails, the sculpture mounted to an iron rod and black granite rectangular plinth. Overall approximately 15.25" tall, 12.625" wide, 8" deep.
