Description
Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958)."Petit Ecuyere (Little Rider)" from the artist's series entitled "Cirque de l'Etoile Filante (Circus of the Shooting Star)" originally published by Ambrose Vollard in 1938, aquatint on paper with embossed seal lower left of matrix "Maeght Editeur Paris". Print depicting a single rider on horseback at center in profile, the horse wearing a costume cap to his head and bending front left left at the knee, the scene with border of color washes. Framed approximately 22.25" x 19.25", image size approximately 12.5" x 9.75".
Condition
Examined out of the frame. Sheet laid down on pink mat board. Rippling to lower third of sheet with other scattered flattened creases. Minor foxing visible on white margins. No apparent toning. No apparent pin holes, tears, abrasions, or losses.
