Description
Pre-Columbian, West Coast, Mexico, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. Large and attractive pottery jar. Rounded olla decorated with 4 sections of 6 high relief spikes - possibly representing a type of cactus fruit. Vessel covered in black slip. Size: 10" in diameter (25.4 cm).
Provenance: Ex-private P. Davis collection, Santa Monica, CA, acquired between 1985 and 1995.
