Circa 1892, marked to underside of overlay ''Gorham Mfg. Co.'' and ''R465'', the jug with maker's mark and impressed shape number ''668'' and iris glaze notation ''W'', signed with artist's monogram ''E.D.F.'' for Emma D. Foertmeyer, the pointed, spreading rim issuing a silver-clad handle joining the shoulder of the bulbous body hand-painted with blooming yellow irises and overlaid with chased foliate sterling silver overlay, 5.875'' H x 5.75'' W x 5.5'' D, est: $1000/2000

Condition
Overall good condition. Crazing to glaze throughout and a few scattered shallow scratches to body. Silver overlay with general rubbed wear, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age. An approximately 2''-long section of cracking to overlay along top of handle.
