Louis XVI-Style Mahogany Bureau Plat, 19th century, the rectangular top with an inset leather writing surface and within a foliate-pattern ormolu band, above a conforming frieze fitted with a single drawer centered by a Jasperware roundel, the frieze with finely modeled ormolu mounts in foliate guilloche and fruit garland patterns, raised on tapering square legs joined by a shaped stretcher, with decorative annulated millwork and ending in foliate peg caps, h. 29-1/2", w. 49-1/2", d. 29".

In overall good condition. The piece exhibits minor rubbing, wear, shrinkage, finish imperfections and other indications of age and use. No missing mounts or beading noted. There is scattered rubbing to the gilt surfaces on the mounts. The leather top exhibits light scratches and scuffs throughout. The table is somewhat loose (sways when side-to-side pressure is placed on the top).
