A slight kick to the head and the pagoda ‘nods’ through the exact balanced metal hanger inside the body, and the tongue is revealed. The dress is adorned with a floral decoration. From the 1740s, Chinese figures were a popular subject at the European courts.

Porcelain Manufactory C.G. Schierholz & Sohn
The German entrepreneur and manor owner Christian Gottfried Schierholz (1787-1851) took over the porcelain manufactory Plaue in 1817. At that time, the factory was located South of Arnstadt and Schierholz relocated part of the production to Dornheim. Later on, his son Julius Adelbert became a shareholder, and the company was renamed in C.G. Schierholz und Sohn. Hugo, the younger son, also took part in the company. The porcelain manufactory painted, burned and delivered porcelain from Dornheim for a period of 18 years. (tm)
