Description
The artist Syntelis, known as a Greek sculptor, used an unusual glass art technique to create this iconic piece of Judaica art. At first, it looks like stained and leaded glass, but upon closer inspection, it is reverse-painted with transparent colors and powders, and what appears to be leading is a resin applied to the surface. There is a solid white backing board to reflect light back through the glass, and in the right environment, the painting seems to glow with an inner fire. The piece was created around 1960-1970, and has a heavy wooden distressed-finish frame around it. The frame and the art are in generally good condition, with a few minor bits of color missing from the bottom right edge of the glass (see photo.) The overall effect if this art is very impressive. The overall size of the glass is 24" x 24", the frame is 28"x28" Item ID: KK4 Fixed Price Shipping & Insurance on this item =$47.00
