11th-12th century AD. A gilt-bronze plaque with slot and two round holes, spigot to the reverse; at the top a frontal beast-head with lentoid eyes and notched fringe. 7.16 grams, 57mm (2 1/4"). Property of an East London gentleman; found Cambridgeshire, UK.
