Description
George Headley designed 18k yellow gold and diamond lady's crescent link watch, the bright set diamonds a combination of round brilliant and single cut stones, approximately H-I, SI1. Cast and assembled links. Hand engraved on clasp, "Warren Perry, NY, 28730" and hand-engraved on watch face, "Perry". 4 single cut diamonds on rose gold dial. 29.1 grams total weight. 6 5/8"L plus safety chain. Note: George Headley (1908-1985) got his start designing jewelry for Paul Flato in the 1930s, then opened his own store at the Hotel Bel Air in Hollywood. Headley counted numerous stars and socialites among his clients. His Kentucky farm became the Headley-Whitney Museum after his death. Headley's account books list a "gold diamond wrist watch" for Mrs. Warren Wright, 1952. (Headley would have been the designer; Perry the jeweler). Exhibited: The George Headley Retrospective, Sept. 29, 2006-Jan. 7, 2007 at The Headley-Whitney Museum in Lexington, Kentucky (published in the exhibition catalog, p. 26).
