GERMAN PORCELAIN FIGURAL INKWELL, CIRCA 1890. Marks: None. 8 H. x 8 W. Nineteenth century parlor scene featuring gentleman and two ladies, each has styled gray hair, finely painted features, lavishly-detailed period costumes. Depicting a couple posed at chess table with maiden looking on. The top lifts off to reveal a porcelain ink pot and sand shaker on base with gilt decoration. Commentary: Attributed to Conta and Boehme porcelain factory. Very fine quality sculpting and decorative details, excellent condition.
