Description
Pre-Columbian, Huastec, Northern Veracruz, Mexico, ca. 1000 to 1300 CE. A very unusual stone palma - attached to the hips as part of the ballgame uniform. Carved from voclanic stone in the form of an abstract creature that appears to be part armadillo and part unknown creature, with an interlocking pattern just beyond the armadillo shell. Would look marvelous with custom stand! Size: 8"L x 3-1/4"W.
