S. I. HSIUNG
(1902-91) Foremost Chinese playwright of the Nationalist period; the first Chinese person to direct a West End (London) play. It was entitled, "Lady Precious Stone," and performed at the Little Theatre in 1935. A.Q.S., on 4 ½" x 6" album sheet, Feb. 13, 1936, in Chinese and English. The quote comes from Confucius: "The wise love waters, while the kind loves mountains." S.I. Hsiung is also known as Hsiung Shih-I, or Xion Shiyi. Signed and inscribed at bottom. Three punch holes at top margin, not affecting quote.
