A.L.S., 2pp. small 8vo., The Athenaeum embossed stationary, 75 Cadagan Square, July 15, 1895 to "Ma chere et bells cousine." In part: "…Though I had such a pleasant visit there, I lost…the number of your house, & tried in vain at two other houses near it, for London servants always pretend not to know even their next-door neighbors…Lt. Richardson-Gardner…reminded me that you are No.3. 'There is luck in odd numbers' in your case at least…I will call, hoping to find at home…"
