(1884 -1972) One-time German chief of staff until transferred to the reserves by Hitler due to policy disputes. Suspected of plotting against Hitler's life in 1944, he was interned at Flossenburg until his rescue by the Allies. Signed paperback book written by Halder: "Hitler als Feldherr" ("Hitler as Field Commander"), (Munich: MDV), 1949. 62pp. 8vo., in German, pictures Hitler on the cover. Covers a bit worn. Inscribed in German within to "Braumeister Keis", July, 1949.
