RARE! John D. Cutter country store silk spool demonstration cabinet. This is the only known example of this John D. Cutter Cabinet. After patenting the glass drawers in 1875. This demonstration cabinet would be used to show retailers the several different styles available to them for displaying the silk spools. The cabinet contains one large compartment, 15 total drawers, 2 of which have beveled glass. The cabinet is 32"w x 31"h x21"d. The metal tag in front reads John D. Cutter PatD Oct. 5th 1875. The official stamp is on the side of the cabinet which reads "This cabinet property of J.D. Cutter Co. N.Y.

Very nice overall condition. All original handles are present and all drawers work smoothly.
