Description
A late nineteenth century Austro-Hungarian silver box, the engine-turned base and floral engraved sides, to the hinged lid with central picture recess within a pierced and raised architectural surround and opening to a silver-gilt interior. Austro-Hungarian assay mark for the silver standard 800 marks. Length 3 1/2 inches (9 cm). Weight 2.93 ozt (91 grams).
Condition
Overall condition good to fair. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Central picture probable replacement. Maker's mark KT within a lozenge.
