Cylindrical upper section tapering to square lower section, having green over ivory to rust over ivory matte glazes with a "frog skin" appearance in areas, further decorated with Greek key style design encircling the upper rim, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo with Roman numeral IX for date 1909, shape #821 B, no apparent artist's signature, approximate height 12 1/2".

Crack descending from upper rim approximately 10" down the exterior of the vase with 4-5 small chips at the crack line, same crack is visible 2" on the interior, a few scattered stray color marks.
