Very well listed artist, James March Phillips (1913-1981) Born in Fresno, California on July 1st, 1913. He studied art in San Francisco at the Jean Turner Art Center. His instructors were Alfred Owles and Louis Rogers, both well-known illustrators. During the 1940s and 1950s, Phillips produced watercolor and gouache paintings depicting California landscape, seascape subjects, as well as being a prolific painter of San Francisco scenes and landscapes of Sonoma and Napa.
