Description
A Near Eastern terracotta rhyton in the form of bull, c. 7th - 5th Century BC, the body is cylindrical with four pegs legs, a pointed knob tail and a short spout rising from the back, the head is stylized with a pouring spout at the mouth and two short horns. H: 6 1/8 in (15.6cm), L: 5 4/5 in (14.8cm). Some restoration at base of neck and spout on back, light deposits throughout. Ex German private antiquities collection.
