Description
Southeast Asia, Cambodia, Khmer, ca. 12th to 14th century CE. A remarkable bronze cast sculpture of a shrine or temple in four distinct sections. Each side the parapet adorned with a Buddha triad in its facade, seated meditative Buddhas at the corners, surmounted by a row of seated meditative Buddhas, another row of seated meditative Buddhas, and finally a pointed finial comprised four faces of Buddha, all supported by a base which is also adorned with seated meditative Buddhas and Buddhas in front of mandorlas for feet. Within the shrine are four dancing Buddhist figurines that are removable. A work of remarkable artistry and intricate detail! Size: 24-1/2" (62.2 cm) x 9" (22.9 cm) x 9" (22.9 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Sarkisian Gallery, Denver, CO acquired between 1947 and 1955.

Condition
Losses to several of the feet, 2 of the second level Buddha appendages, section of parapet and wear as shown. Slightly tilted (correctable). Worthy of professional restoration.
