Late 19th/early 20th century, an opposing pair, each surmounted by a crane standing atop a turtle's back, a snake clutched in its raised foot, over five outswept arms each supporting a foliate-molded urn-form light, raised on a channeled floral and acanthus-wrapped standard above a parcel-gilt tripartite foliate base with panther-headed knees, on claw feet, raised overall on a gilt bronze-mounted tripartite beveled red marble plinth, each: 26.25'' H x 8.75'' Dia., est: $800/1200

Condition
Each in overall good condition, with general marks, scratches and scuffs commensurate with age. Some darkening and rubbed wear to gilt elements commensurate with age. One with a repair to base of crane's leg and repaired breaks to marble base. The other with an approximately .25'' loss to tip crane's beak and a break at base of crane's leg; crane attached but loose.
