Description
Pair of Dutch silver crane lights. Circa 1890s. Standing crane on base holding a worm in beak. Red stone/glass inlaid eyes. Open at neck, with a wick setting inside. Marked on neck, leg and base with the Minerva head duty mark, the Lion Passant mark (=minimum .883), and the letter date mark. One with 1898 letter date mark. Similar with Dutch silver bird spice box. 5 1/4". Base: 2 5/8" diameter.
Condition
One with green rust in the neck and possibly old repair at the thigh/leg area.
