Description
Ink and color on paper, hanging scroll. Copying a painting by Li Yu (1843-?), a southern painter skilled in bird and flower painting, the print depicts four birds on branches towards the top with two ducks towards the bottom, one swimming in the pond, one on the shore nearby, to the left is a poem titled Chun Xiao (the Spring Dawn) and an inscription stating it was painted during the spring of 1883, with two seals of the painter. Approx. 25 1/4 by 51 1/4 in., 64 by 130 cm.
