Description
A group of 3 vintage Mexican paper-mache dolls, c. 1930's - 1940's, one unusually large, traditionally given as gifts to girls during Easter, often mistakenly called 'Puta Dolls' here in the US. The larger is well preserved with fresh colors and the name Luz painted on the belly, H: 28 in (71 cm), the smaller 2 named Veronica and Juanita each with copper wire earrings and brightly painted outfits with floral decoration on the breasts. H: 13 1/2 in (18.9 cm). Ex Maurice Yanez collection, Pasadena, CA.
