Description
Roman Empire, the Levant region of eastern Mediterranean, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A yellow green glass bottle with strands of applied glass rigaree from rim to shoulders, a dimpled bottom with broken pontil mark, and beautiful areas of rainbow irridescence. Size: 3-1/4" (8.3 cm) x 2-1/2" (6.4 cm) in diameter at widest.
Provenance: Ex-private east coast collection; ex-private Stephen Shalom collection, NY, acquired 1970's.
