Egypt, ca. 5th century CE. A brilliant framed Coptic textile depicting a bust of a female within a roundel wearing polychrome headband. Woven in tan, red, blue and orange wool. Framed with suspension ring on backside. Size: textile itself measures 7-3/4" in diameter (19.7 cm); 13-5/8"L x 13-5/8"W framed.
Provenance: Ex-private Roudillon collection, Paris, acquired in 1960's, ex-privateHenry Kamer collection, Calabasas, California, January 1991.
