Accompanied by two small, three-legged toads
In its mouth a long cord with cash coins
Very sculptural carving with many naturalistic details
The base with an additional sculpturally carving
The three-legged toad is the toad of the legendary Liu Hai, the god of money and prosperity
In this context and in conjunction with the coins, the toad appears as his attribute

Three-legged, spotted toad is the companion animal of the Taoist god of prosperity, Liu Hai. According to legend Liu Hai entices the toad with gold coins out of its lair. Together they bring wealth and prosperity in a household
