1760 French and Indian War Soldier Enlistment Document And Fought at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 !
May 29, 1760-Dated, French and Indian War Period, Partially-Printed, Soldier Enlistment Document, Signed by “Jedediah Stickney,” Very Good.
Extremely rare, original French and Indian War, Soldier Enlistment Document, measuring 8.25” x 7”, 1 page, where Jedediah Stickney of Boston has enlisted himself a soldier in his Majesty's Provincial Service on May 29th, 1760 for the total reduction (defeat) of Canada. Jedediah Stickney received a total of 10 dollars and a 6 pound province note as bounty (reward for enlisting) from Captain Francis Peabody. Signed by Jedediah Stickney. Daniel Appleton also signs at the bottom. It is well printed in black typeset text upon period watermarked laid paper. Mentions his receipt of “TEN DOLLARS, and a Six Pound Province Note, his Bounty...”.

Jedediah Stickney also fought at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 under Captain Jacob Gerrish and during the Revolutionary War. Paper loss at the upper right, horizontal fold at center with paper loss affecting a few words, edge chipping, scattered tone. French and Indian War documents are very scarce, especially such official type Enlistment documents. A rarity and unique, rather fantastic document, representing a American Colonial Soldier that fought in two wars: The French and Indian War ... then the American Revolutionary War at Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 !

JEDEDIAH STICKNEY fought in the French and Indian War.

After the surrender of Fort William Henry, every man gave up his weapons and were forced to march out beyond the walls into the open. During this march they were savagely attacked by the indians. Jedediah narrowly escaping capture and or death from the indians by ripping off his clothing while being chased. In the fall of 1760, the French would receive the final crushing blow in Montreal from the British.

Later, he served in the Revolutionary War under Captain John Dodge, Colonel Timothy Pickering's regiment. He marched to the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775 and under Captain Jacob Gerrish.
