***"This is an authentic story told quietly by the Rector of a very fashionable Church in New York. One day a respectable middle-aged coloured man came to see him and asked whether he might become a member of his congregation. 'Well, Sam,' said the Rector, 'you realise that this is a very difficult, I might say delicate matter. Let us both think it over for a week or so and, maybe, ask God for His guidance to help us.' Next week back comes the coloured man and the Rector questions him: 'Have you thought our problem over?' 'Yessir, I sure have', 'And did you ask almighty God for guidance?' 'Yessir, I sure did.'
