DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Père (1802-1870) French Writer whose works include The Three Musketeers. A.L.S., A. Dumas, four pages, small 8vo, n.p., n.d., to 'Mon cher Edmond', in French. Dumas states that he is happy to be collaborating with his correspondent and the journal Le Siecle, and continues to refer to some verses which 'are done for the novel and maybe in good conscience we could think that a line of verse inspires as much sorrow and is as difficult to do as two lines of prose'. Dumas continues to discuss some finances and payments and confirms that the last statement of accounts show that he is not owed anything from Le Siecle. In a postscript he asks if his correspondent has two or three Variety subjects to give him, as he wishes to return to the genre, and also asks if he would be interested in two lectures he has at home concerning the rights of the poor.
