LINCOLN ELECTION - SOLDIER'S ABSENTEE BALLOT FORM
Scarce partly-printed Union soldier's 1864 presidential campaign soldier's absentee voting ballot document, 1p. folio, "near Richmond, Va., Oct. 30, 1864 in which 1st Lt. James Scott [Killed at Fort Fisher, N. C., 2/11/65], Co. G, 47th N.Y. Infy. gives a certain Capt. Charles Moore the right "to cast for me…my vote or ballot…at the presidential election to be held on the 8th day of November, 1864". Signed and made official by Lt. Charles W. Gallaer as AAG10th Army Corps. Also included is the original partly-printed transmittal cover basically reading the same as the document. Both very good.
